Want a cost effective wedding? Try this.....

Gideon Tan, an IT manager & his lovely wife Rebecca Goh a teacher, decided  to hold their wedding banquet at the Pekin Restoran Johor Jaya restaurant in Johor Baru instead of a hotel in Singapore.

Why?
1. Rebecca is Malaysian and most of her relatives live in Johor Baru and Ipoh.
2. The cost is much lower & also the weekends slots in Singapore’s hotels are hard to come by, usually fully booked!
3. And the food & service  is GREAT !!!
Couple saved $20,000 with wedding at JB restaurant
Gideon & Rebecca

And do you know that half of the 900 wedding banquets held in 16 hotels in Johor Baru last year were thrown by Singaporeans or Singapore permanent residents? And why not it cost 50% lower. For instance, prices for a table of 10 at the five-star Thistle hotel in Johor Baru range from RM1,388 (S$520) to RM1,888, compared with upwards of $1,789 at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore hotel.
However you might need to charter buses to transport your Spore guest across- but that’s fun too right? Everyone can take it as a weekend getaway & stay for the night in the hotel (expenses not paid by the couple of course…lol…) . According to reports Gideon Tan Spent $1,400 to charter two buses to ferry his family and friends across. The couple estimate that they saved at least $20,000.
Now that’s really not bad right? Money saved can go towards a wonderful honeymoon or renovation for the new home. Think about it .

Want a special Wedding? try this.. the John Khoo's way : Flash mob marriage proposal at Changi Airport

The flash mob marriage proposal took place on Dec 11 and a video of the unusual move has gone viral J This went down at our very own Changi Airport J. A beautiful love song was played over a few speakers. The clueless 26 year old teacher Melissa Chan was lead to an area near the check-in counters at Terminal 1's departure hall, where about 100 people - including her fiance John Khoo , 29- sang and danced. Even the airport mascot, Max, joined.

John Khoo & Melissa Chan.... how cute right?
John Khoo then whip out the RING went on bent knee and popped the question. The crowd cheered as he announced: "She said 'yes'." Who wouldn’t??? …lol…. If someone would go through all this for me, I’ll die of appreciation & happiness.
….. & who says Singaporeans are boring, not creative & had no fun !

John Khoo proved them wrong !!!!
What a fun & memorable proposal !!! Wish I was there.

Note: The flash mob was organized by Glee Studios Singapore and the Singapore Show Choir Academy. John Khoo is the co-founder of both groups. Perhaps you can contact them if you want something special .
